Do I still need to book a Madeira trail if it is open?

Yes. All classified PR trails require advance booking and payment through the SIMplifica portal — €4.50 per trail, or €10.50 for PR1 — even when the trail is open. Children under 12 are free but must be on the reservation.

Why I built this

In 2026 Madeira put every classified trail behind paid, timed booking on SIMplifica — and the fees, rules and closures keep changing. Too many visitors turn up to a closed trail or overpay because the guide they read was months out of date. So I check the official sources every morning and just tell you what's true today.
